Dr. Naw May Lay Thant - Secretary

Biography :

Secretary, MBF Steering Committee. Deputy CEO of MBF overseeing activities related to protected area capacity development, expansion and governance, and the focal person for developing the national biodiversity strategy and action plan. Prior to MBF, she worked for WCS Myanmar as Deputy Country Director, Range Conservation Officer to Forest Department, strengthening protected area management, staff capacity building, multi-stakeholder engagement and public conservation awareness.   She has a BSc in Forestry, a MSc in Wildlife Management from the University of Forestry in Yezin, Myanmar, a Diploma in Environmental Management from Dresden Technological University (Germany) and a PhD in Forest Environmental Management from Seoul National University (Korea).
